About the shop

Jelly children’s charity shop opened in November 2013, selling second-hand children’s clothes, shoes, toys and accessories. Jelly has become well-known to the people of Exeter (and beyond!) as the go-to shop for excellent value items and friendly customer service. We pride ourselves on being one of the only children’s charity shops in the UK, fulfilling a need for those on lower incomes.

In November 2014 we were able to move to a larger location on Exeter’s Fore Street, surrounded by a range of other independent businesses. We have expanded in other ways too, hosting music and crafting events, as well as selling goods on behalf of other projects and companies.

Our shop is bright and welcoming, with baby changing and feeding facilities and a space at the back of the shop for children to play. We sell a large range of children’s clothes, from newborn to 11+ years, as well as toys and books, pushchairs and other baby accessories. We rely on regular donations of stock and receive frequent donations from our customers, who continue to buy from us as their children grow.

Volunteers are a real asset to us and we receive regular praise for them from our customers. We provide the opportunity for people to volunteer in a safe and supportive environment, allowing them to gain skills and experience to improve their wellbeing and employability. We are also able to offer them a range of certified qualifications.
